PIPEDREAM

 

Pipedream is an exciting and up and coming band from Oslo, Norway. The last few months they have proved themselves to be an exploding and tight live band. The band has visited most of the venues in Oslo as well as toured Norway from coast to coast. Pipedream have also had the pleasure of supporting great bands like The Wombats and 1990s from the UK. Pipedream played at the prestigious by:Larm festival 2009 in Oslo; the most known festival for up and coming bands in Norway. Only 30 bands out of over 1000 were picked out to play by:Larm 2009 and good reviews, rumours and references the last few months made Pipedream a safe choice to play the festival. The festival resulted in a digital release of their new EP “Let The Rumours Flow” on the UK based label “Lazy Acre Records”. Having received good reviews and even more interest from the UK music industry, Pipedream is heading over to do a short tour in October 2009.

Pipedream has also released the single “You?ll Never Catch Gold” on Sony BMG, after winning the international competition Urband Playground. The single is available on iTunes as well as several different websites (Telenor, Djuice etc).
In June 2008, the band played at the Underwood-stage in front of 6000 spectators during this year?s Norwegian Wood festival after being picked out as one of the eight bands amongst 400 who got to play the festival. Pipedream won the people?s prize, were entitled “The Underwood Band of the Year” and was awarded a great prize from GRAMO and Norwegian Wood. This also led to interviews and several radio plays of their song “Disappear” at the Norwegian radiostation P3. The performance was also broadcasted live on the national TV station NRK.

With diverse musical backgrounds and influences Pipedream has developed into an energetic rock orchestra with thick and melodic walls of sound fed with both pop and rock. Similar bands could be The Killers, Carpark North, Mew, Bloc Party, Keane and Muse.

 

As well as playing live gigs, Pipedream is now writing new material for their debut album.
